Wrapped candies inspected by Sortecno optical sorting technology

Advanced Optical Sorting Solutions for the Confectionery Sector: Sortecno Sorvex Tegmen powered by HypériOne

Deep Learning and AI algorithms for an optical inspection and sorting machine for hard candies.

KeepOne recently engineered and installed a sorting and quality control machine for a world-leading manufacturer of hard candies.

The Sortecno Sorvex Tegmen, powered by HypériOne, checks in real time, approximately 120 wrapped sweets per second. In addition to the presence of foreign bodies, the quality of the wrapping is also checked to avoid any contamination.

One of the basic requirements of the food industry is to ensure that food meant for human consumption must be pure and cannot pose a health risk.

Unfortunately, contamination during production cannot be completely excluded. Some of these sources could be the personal effects of workers as well as machine wear.

Providing safe and high-quality food is good for business. On the other hand, a product recall can have a very critical reputational and financial impact on a company. A system for food selection and analysis plays a very significant role in consumer and brand protection. This is why evaluating the implementation of selection and control systems in these processes makes good business sense: a good food safety performance protects consumers, and indirectly also the corporate brand.

Sortecno has already supplied and installed for some of its customers a particularly high-performance optical sorting machine for the sorting of wrapped hard and jelly sweets.

Sortecno Sorvex Tegmen, powered by HypériOne,  detects cross-contamination, starch, wood, and other foreign material, clumping, and confectionery that are malformed.

Even for the candy industry, food safety regulations are becoming increasingly strict worldwide. Furthermore, drugs and vitamins in gums are becoming increasingly popular in recent years.
